These threads are covered with spicules that are hooked to the dermis to tighten the skin and get the lifting effect that we are looking for when we start having sagging skin in the facial area or in other parts of the body.

The COG multifilament threads with spicules are a variety of the monofilament threads that are also made out of Polydioxanone (PDO), a very safe material used in heart surgery techniques. It also acts encouraging cell cohesion, being completely absorbed by the body.

The COG threads are covered all the way with spicules, with an additional benefit from the PDO threads. They have and immediate mechanic effect and a much more visible tensor effect (lifting) starting from the moment of the implantation.

The COG threads with spicules have a greater tensor effect than the conventional threads due to the fact that they get much more anchor points on their tension line. They also encourage a higher collagen production in a natural way due to the fibrosis that is cuased around the threads.

Through a correct combination of these new threads, a vector network more complex than the face can be created (or the area of the body that we need to treat), achieving a higher volume, a greater tensor effect and a long-lasting result of the treatment combattin wrinkles, lines or sagging skin.

Procedure

Depending on your age and your appearance, the needles with the threads are implanted into the dermis or any other part of the body with the help of a treatment that’s totally individual.

First of all a design of the treatment we want to perform is made, drawing the direction in which the threads will be placed.

We need to find the vector that lifts the sagging skin the most, and we use minimum two paths for each vector.

Each path is one thread, placing them in parallel. They are introduced with a needle which they are attached to, the needle is then extracted in the same way it was inserted. The thread remains inside the skin. This thread holds on to an anchor point and we pull the end that is outside to lift the skin, correcting sagging in an instant way.

Effects:

On one hand, these threads sustain, stretch and tighten due to the thread with spicules having these prolongations that stick to the skin and on the other hand they stimulate the skin regeneration, significantly improving its elasticity.

They don’t replace lifting, but these threads mean yet another alternative that generates a great satisfaction on the hand of the patients.

A mechanic tensor effect is achieved almost immediately, and it varies depending on the are to be treated and the skin conditions.

The biologic effects can be seen from the first month and they will get stronger after 3 months and last up to 12 or 18 months.

Even though the inserted threads are absorbed after more or less 4 months, their effects persist due to the fact that the threads are replaced by new collagen that has been formed around the threads by the body.

The treatment using COG tensor threads with spicules is completely compatible with social life, repeating it approximately every year.

As it happens with many treatments, the duration will always depend on numerous factors like sun expositiion, diets, tobacco use and especially genetics.

Side effects

It’s a safe treatment that rarely brings complications, only slight and temporary complications can appear: swelling, tension, oedema, redness, slight stinging or eventually a bruising, they disappear soon after. Also, you will be able to immediately go back to your usual activities.

Advices to follow before the COG multifilament threads with spicules

Taking Traumeel as tablets three days before the treatment can help preventing the appearance of bruisings in the treated area. It’s a medication which is used to relieve the pain and the inflammation of contusions or bruisings.

It’s recommendable consuming food that’s rich in Vitamin C. It’s been proven that people who follow a diet that’s rich in products containing Vitamin C stimulate the collagen production of the skin. That’s why we recommend eating fruit with a high Vitamin C content before and after the treatment.

Don’t use anticoagulant substances like Aspirin. In case of being treated with anticoagulants you need to inform about it before you can undergo a treatment.

Don’t consume stimulating substances (energy drinks, coffee, cola drinks) or tobacco the days previous to the COG thread session.
