What is Microneedling with Radiofrequency?
Microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) is an innovative procedure for skin rejuvenation and regeneration. It combines two proven therapeutic approaches: radiofrequency energy with microneedling.
What happens during a microneedling with radiofrequency?
For Microneedling with Radiofrequency, 25 gold coated needles are inserted into the skin at different depths. Then, in a matter of milliseconds, a pulse of heat (radiofrequency energy) is emitted through the tips of the needles. This leads to an activation of the body’s own regeneration processes, with the release of growth factors and the stimulation of connective tissue cells (fibroblasts), which in turn produce more collagen and elastin fibres. The so-called Microneedling with Radiofrequency represents an evolution of the classical Microneedling.
What effect does a Microneedling with Radiofrequency have?
Wrinkle reduction
Skin rejuvenation
Skin tightening
Pore size reduction / Skin refinement
Correction of scars (acne, operations, burns, chickenpox)
Stretch mark reduction
Destruction of the sweat glands in cases of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
What’s the advantage of a treatment with our RF-Microneedling machine?
The “cold” passage of the golden needles through the epidermis and the release of heat only in the deeper layers of the skin through the needle tips significantly reduces pain during this treatment. In addition, the needle length of 0.5 mm to 3.5 mm and the intensity can be individually adapted to the patient’s skin type, thus effectively treating all existing skin layers.
What areas can be treated with RF-Microneedling?
· Face
· Neck
· Neckline
· Hands
· Armpits
· Body (arms, elbows, inner thighs, knees, etc.)
How does a RF-Microneedling work?
First, the skin is thoroughly cleaned of dirt and makeup. After applying a local anaesthetic (cream) or a small injection (into the body) and disinfection, the skin is treated with the treatment head, which is fitted with 25 gold-plated needles, in 2 – 3 different depths. Finally, the skin is further cared for with highly concentrated serums, soothing creams and sun protection products.
How long does a RF-Microneedling treatment take?
Depending on the size of the area to be treated (e.g. full face / neck and neckline), the treatment usually takes 60-90 minutes. Small areas (e.g. cheeks) can be treated in a much shorter time.
Is the RF-Microneedling treatment painful?
After applying local anaesthesia in form of a numbing cream or a local injection, the pain is minimal.
Can I go on with my normal activities after the RF-Microneedling treatment?
After a treatment with RF-Microneedling, the skin may get slightly swollen and red during 1 or 2 days (weekend procedure). As a general rule, it takes 7 to 10 days to complete the healing process.
What are the possible risks and side effects of the RF-Microneedling? What are the possible risks and side effects of the RF-Microneedling?
Redness and swelling
Small bruises
Inflammation
Activation of a herpes simplex
Keloid/scar growth in rare occasions
Pigmentation disorders
Skin exfoliation
What types of skin can be treated with the RF-Microneedling?
A treatment with RF-Microneedling is suitable for all skin types.
What should be considered before and after a treatment with RF-Microneedling?
Anticoagulants should not be taken for at least one week before treatment. After the RF-Microneedling, direct exposure to the sun should be avoided for approximately 6 – 8 weeks. In case of sun exposure, sun protection with a protection factor of at least 30 should be applied.
What aftercare is recommended after the treatment with RF-Microneedling?
As a follow-up treatment, we recommend special cosmetic products with highly concentrated active ingredients to support collagen repair or production.
When should the RF-Microneedling treatment not be performed?
Allergy to one of the ingredients
Autoimmune diseases
Acute and chronic skin diseases (dermatitis, psoriasis, etc.)
Haemophilia (tendency to bleed more)
Diabetes
Epilepsy, multiple sclerosis
Taking medications: vitamin A, antibiotics, anticoagulants, cytostatics
Acute and chronic infections
Skin cancer
Acute cardiovascular problems
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
When and for how much much time is the result visible after a treatment of Microneedling with Radiofrequency?
The first result of a RF-Microneedling treatment is visible after 2 to 3 months, the final result can take up to 6 months. For deeper scar treatments, results are expected after 4 to 6 months at least. The result is usually permanent, however skin ageing progresses.
How frequently should the RF-Microneedling treatment be performed?
In order to achieve an optimal result with the RF-Microneedling, at least 2 -3 treatments in intervals of 4 – 8 weeks are recommended. To keep the result of the treatment, the treatment must be repeated once after 9 to 12 months.
Can the RF-Microneedling method be combined with other procedures?
For scars, wrinkles and ageing, the RF-Microneedling can be combined with the CO2 laser in the same session. Clinical studies show significantly improved results. However, the Microneedling with Radiofrequency treatment can also be supported with several injections, like fillers, skin stimulants, and the PRP procedure to obtain visibly improved results.
What happens when treating hyperhidrosis with RF-Microneedling?
In so-called radio frequency thermotherapy, the sweat glands are permanently destroyed by the heat impulses emitted at the tips of the needles. The armpits are first injected with a local anaesthetic. For a satisfactory result, 2 to 4 treatments at 2 month intervals are necessary.
