WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA?

It’s an ambulatory treatment that’s performed in the clinic. After cleaning and preparing the area to be treated, numbing cream is applied. A blood extraction is performed on the patient. This will be the source for the PRP after centrifuging and activating the blood. Once prepared, it will be applied through multiple punctures with a very fine needle, in form of a mesotherapy.

The number of sessions will depend on the skin condition of each patient. Normally the recommendation is 3 sessions, with a pause of 3 weeks between them. After one year, a maintenance should be done, consisting of one session every 6 or 12 months. Growth factors need to act by stimulating the tissue, which is why there is no instant result. The effects appear over the course of time and increase as days go by. The effect is at its peak about 20/30 days after the treatment.
