Treatment against facial flaccidity
The treatment with SCULPTRA, as a flaccidity treatment, offers a clear clinical improvement without the need of undergoing a conventional surgery.
SCULPTRA is an injectable synthetic material consisting of “polylactic acid”, which is biocompatible and completely resorbable.
SCULPTRA’s mechanism of action is based on the renewal of the skin on a cell level along with the progressive formation of new collagen.
Polylactic acid has been used in resorbable surgical threads over many years.
HOW DOES SCULPTRA WORK?
SCULPTRA is infiltrated into the skin through injections that cause a minimal discomfort. These injections are placed below the skin surface in areas affected by fat loss. SCULPTRA is infiltrated into the skin through injections that cause a minimal discomfort. These injections are placed below the skin surface in areas affected by fat loss.
Later, the product induces the formation of new collagen in a natural and progressive manner, this way the patient perceives a gradually improving appearance, starting from the first treatment session.
Multiple sessions are required (3 on average) to obtain the desired aesthetic result.
Once the treatment is finished, the results are very durable: they last up to 2 years.
Maintenance sessions are recommended.
SAFETY OF SCULPTRA
The active ingredient of SCULPTRA is polylactic acid.
It is of synthetic origin, not animal, that’s why a previous allergy test is not required: it’s biocompatible.
It is gradually completely eliminated, without any residues being left in the body: it’s biodegradable.
ARE THE RESULTS IMMEDIATE?
After the first session it might seem that SCULPTRA worked immediately due to the inflammation caused by injecting the water that’s used to dilute SCULPTRA. After some days, the inflammation decreases and the water is absorbed by the body. It will take some time, at least 1 month, for the results to be clearly visible for the patient.
WHO IS SCULPTRA INDICATED FOR?
SCULPTRA is indicated for increasing the volume of depressed areas and especially for the correction of flaccidity.
Therefore, any person above age 30 is a candidate for a treatment with Sculptra, as its use can prevent the progression of ageing signs.
WHO PERFORMS THE TREATMENT?
In order to obtain satisfying results, it’s indispensable for the Sculptra treatment to be exclusively carried out by doctors with an appropriate level of experience and training for its performance.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Sculptra causes a progressive and natural improvement that requires several treatment sessions. On average, 3 sessions in consecutive months are recommended. Logically, every case needs to be individually assessed by the doctor in order to establish the most convenient number of treatment sessions.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Usually, the treatment sessions are well tolerated and cause slight transient discomfort that can be minimised by your doctor using local anaesthesia. Once the session is completed, the discomfort will quickly disappear.
WHAT CARE DO I NEED AFTER THE TREATMENT?
It’s recommended to massage the treated areas for 2 minutes, 2 times a day over a period of 2 weeks. It is possible to immediately resume your daily activities.
CAN I DO OTHER DERMOAESTHETIC TREATMENTS?
Sculptra is perfectly compatible with other medical procedures, in fact, its association to other techniques (expression wrinkle treatment, laser therapy, peelings, implants and fillers) can result in even better outcomes. The medical specialist is the person in charge of deciding the combination rules of these treatments that are most suitable for each patient.
